Baby Shoes: Tips on Infant Walking Shoes

As a parent, the news that your infant is finally walking is one of the best moments of parenthood. However, with this joy comes a new challenge - the requirement to shop for infant walking shoes. With the incredible options available in different styles and price ranges, choosing the perfect fit can sometimes be an uphill task. It is good to choose a perfect pair of shoes that will help, rather than hinder your baby's first walking experience. This is because naturally, babies will find a lot of things to trip over, so it is best that the shoe is not part of the problem. Here are some tips to help you buy a perfect fit.

The first major consideration should be about the right time to buy a pair of shoes. Well, different parents have different preferences but the ideal time is when the baby is taking his or her first few steps. Generally, it is fine to let your baby learn to walk without shoes if you prefer. It is even much better to let the baby experience those first few steps without shoes. However, there are times when it is practically dangerous to let the baby walk on barefoot. In this respect, it is a good idea to have at least a pair of shoes available once the baby is officially on her feet.

And what kind of infant walking shoes should you buy? Obviously, you need to invest in a cute pair of infant walking shoes. In addition to cuteness, the shoe should also be soft and have flexible soles that will allow the baby to balance his or her feet properly. Besides that, a perfect pair of shoes for your baby should have smooth soles that will reduce the likelihood of the baby falling. Most importantly, if you choose boots or high-tops, be sure that they are flexible around the ankle to ensure that the baby's movement is not restricted. You should also ensure that the shoes are made of breathable materials.

A perfect baby shoes should not fit too tight neither should they be too big in the hope that you get more wear out of them. As a thumb up rule, try several pairs on your baby and watch how they walk on them. They will not be a good buy if they seem to hinder the baby's movement or leave red spots after taking them off.

In addition to that, an ideal shoe should have extra space inside. According to experts, it should have at least a space that the fingertip can fit while the baby is wearing them. However, it should not be too loose either.

The other important consideration should be whether to buy shoes that use laces or Velcro. Laces need to be re-tied a lot, which may make Velcro a good choice instead. Besides, lace-up shoes are also much harder for babies to take off or fasten as opposed to Velcro, which are much easier for the young minds to figure out.

Infants grow rapidly fast, which means that you may need to buy new infant walking shoes quite often. Even though babies grow at different rates, you can still expect to buy new shoes at least every three to six months. However, some babies may require bigger shoes almost on a monthly basis. Its important to acquire new shoes for your babies because it said that it helps babies develop their feet.
